Seasoned Ghanaian journalist and General Manager for GHOne Television, Nana Aba Anamoah has called on President Akufo-Addo and Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu- Ekuful to rescind the decision to block unregistered SIM cards considering that many have not been able to register because they are yet to receive their Ghana Cards which is the only acceptable national identification card.
The SIM card registration is scheduled to end on July 31, 2022. The exercise which began on October 1, 2021, was originally scheduled to end on March 31, 2022. It was, however, extended to July 31, 2022, because many were yet to receive their Ghana Cards.
Although the narrative has not changed, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalization, has without mincing words stated that the deadline will not be extended for a second time.
She suggested that many people became reluctant to register their SIM when the deadline was extended.
But Nana Aba Anamoah has asserted in a series of tweets that it is totally unfair to Ghanaians who are yet to receive their Ghana Cards for no fault of theirs to have their sim cards blocked.
The veteran journalist is of the view that government can only take such decisions after it has supplied all Ghanaians with the Ghana card.

In an interview on Joy News with the Afrochella Festival co-founder, he noted that contrary to what many people believe that he has a rich father, he works extremely hard to be successful in his field of work.
“Three to four years ago, I went on a TV show with him and people were like, ‘that’s your dad. Can I take a picture? Your dad is Honorable Kennedy Agyapong and you’re working?
“And I was like, am I not supposed to work? When I was younger, my dad always said you have to work hard, and I think that helped.
“When I was about 16, he was like ‘you have to wake up early [because] if you wake up early, you can start planning things.’ So, consistently, even if I plan to go out or not, I wake up at 4:30 am or 5:00 am at most,” he disclosed.
Even though he is the Assin MP’s son, Ken Agyapong Jnr. said, he doesnt go about telling people who his father is in other countries since they don’t know who he is.
“I’m still the same Kenny, I don’t go around saying my dad is Kennedy Agyapong because if I’m in America, nobody is going to say who is your father. So I don’t want it to get to my head at all. I’m very calm and cool but I’m wild sometimes.”

Rev. Eastwood Anaba says marrying a Christian doesn’t guarantee a good marriage
‘Marry a person you trust, is your friend, and you can communicate with’, Rev. Anaba to the youth
The famous preacher says a good husband is not the same as a good Christian
Founder and Head Pastor of the Eastwood AnabaMinistries, Reverend Eastwood Anaba, has advised Christian youths against choosing a life partner because they are Christians.
According to the seasoned preacher, choosing a husband or a wife because they are Christians is very wrong.
He explained that being a Christian is not the same as being a good spouse.
“You cannot marry a man or a woman because they are Christians. So you ask a Christian woman, why do you want to marry him, and she says, it is because he loves the Lord. You ask a man and he says, I want to marry the woman because she loves God and she is serious in church. The truth is that a husband is not the same as a Christian. He may love the Lord but does not love you,” Rev. Eastwood Anabaexplained in his surmon.
The famous televangelist added that marrying a person based on religion alone is not enough to ensure a good marriage and sustain a marriage.
He said,'”Oh, why do you want to marry him? We go to the same church. Are you sure it is enough for a good marriage? Why do you want to marry her? Ooh, she fears the Lord. Can you imagine that?”
A good marriage, according to Reverend Anaba, thrives on trust, open communication, companionship, and resources; as such, prospective spouses should look for these qualities before deciding to get hitched.

Popular singer hints at having more kids
Shatta Movement, the fanbase of Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale on Father’s Day consoled their superstar by showering him with words of encouragement and named him the best dad after he disclosed that all the women he shares children with have denied him access to seeing the kids, talk of spending the special day together.
On Sunday, June 19, the world honoured men on the occasion of Father’s Day but Shatta couldn’t enjoy the day to the fullest because he wasn’t allowed to see any of his children.
The father of three took to his Facebook page to call out his baby mamas for their actions and also seized the opportunity to celebrate himself. The SM boss has announced that he would make new babies now that he has been left almost fatherless.
“Happy Father’s Day to me !! Tho none of my baby mothers want me to see my own kids. They should keep them, ago born another one for myself soonest. And I will give them the same names l chose for them … Aboooozegey!”

If you ask teachers and parents, and even some older students, for tips on how best to learn, you will get lots of advice. Some based on their personal experience – what worked for them – some on what they have seen work for students and some derived from research. In his book “How We Learn – The Surprising Truth About When, Where, and Why it Happens”, Benedict Carey includes some tips based on scientific research. Of the nine tips below, the first eight come from Carey’s book and I have added a ninth: Increase Your Brain’s Capacity to Learn. Here are the tips:Vary your learning routine, locations and material Many students have a fixed time and place to study. However research has shown that varying your study location – at home in a different room, at school, in a library- can improve learning. In a similar way occasionally changing the time of day you study and the materials you use – laptop, pen and paper, speaking into a voice recorder – also boost learning.
Get a good night’s sleep But vary your sleep time depending on what you are learning.
If you are trying to learn facts like names, formulas and dates, go to bed early and get the deep sleep of the early evening. Then get up early and review what you had been learning the day before.
The sleep that best consolidates creative thinking and motor skills happens in the morning before awakening. So to learn these skills you may find it best to go to bed a little later than normal and sleep in a bit.
Space your study time It’s better to do two one-hour study sessions than a single unbroken two-hour session. You will remember more if you do an hour today, then another hour tomorrow, especially if you get the right sleep during the night (see tip 2).
“Cramming” for an exam can work…. for your exam results This is a last resort tactic and is proven to work short term, so you will probably do better in the exam. But you won’t remember much long term.
Your brain makes long-term memories only after some forgetting has happened. This is similar to a muscle that needs exercise to break it down a little so that it can become stronger.
Use self testing This is a strong, proven learning technique. You can test yourself by trying to remember what you were learning, or explaining it aloud to yourself or to someone who is prepared to listen. You can get friends to quiz you. One of the benefits is that is that you can get immediate feedback whether you are right or wrong.
Take notes in class and review them But don’t be passive. Don’t take notes verbatim and just look over them, or review highlighted text. This won’t be much help for your learning.
Be an active note taker. Try to make notes from the important points of the class then rewrite them without looking at the notes. This works your memory harder and immediately shows you what you don’t know.
Don’t worry about short breaks or distractions while you’re studying Learning scientists know that a short break while you are trying to solve a problem you’re stuck on is one of the best ways to succeed. When you take a break, your brain will continue to work on the problem subconsciously, without the imposition of preconceived ideas you may have had.
Create learning sessions where you mix knowledge areas or skills When you focus on learning one thing at a time, it is the fastest way to acquire the learning but it can put a limit on the extent of the learning.
Mixing the knowledge areas in a learning session – for example working on maths, then history, then building a PowerPoint presentation about astronomy in a single learning session will sharpen your grasp on all of them better than if you used the session for one knowledge area alone.
Increase your brain’s capacity to learn The first eight tips are really about how to get the best result from your brain’s current “learning capacity”. By “learning capacity” I mean the physical structure of your brain, including all the neural networks that determine how well you can think (your memory, attention, speed of processing and ability to sequence ideas). Imagine if you could increase your brain’s ability to do those things better. Thanks to recent neuroscience research and the conversion of that into a range of brain training programs we all now have the ability to improve our learning capacity. Then when you use the learning tips 1 – 8, you will get an even better learning outcome.
